Here are free ways to find out how much your domain names are worth. 

• namebio - Search reported domain sales made at Afternic, Sedo, BuyDomains, TDNAM, SnapNames, Moniker and Roundtable auctions. Search by name, dates, price, length and many other option. Useful tool to compare what similar names have sold for.

• estibot - Free automated domain appraisals. The beta version values are based more on Google frequency, backlinks, Alexa rankings and Overture scores then true market values.

• SoldNames - Search "premium" names that have sold.

While the above tools can be helpful we recommend a professional domain name appraisal from experts to determine a fair market price. Domain sellers find that appraised domain names may sell for higher prices. Buyers should have names appraised before purchasing.

• Afternic - Afternic's valuation system consists of both a numerical score and a monetary valuation. $19.95 for each domain name or $14.95 for 6 or more domain appraisals. Names delivered in 1 to 2 business days. You can show or hide the appraisal on listing pages. Paid membership is not required to order appraisals.

• Moniker - Moniker considers 17 separate factors and has appraised over 400,000 names. $24.99 per each domain name or expedited domain name service for $39.99.

• Sedo - Domain appraisals are $29 for a 5 factor appraisal or $49 for Sedo's premium 10 factor appraisals. Sedo will evaluate a portfolio of 50 domain names or more. Sedo offers appraisals with brokerage service and will submit reasonable offers to domain owners for you.

• Archive.org - The Wayback Machine archives the Internet and gives you the cached history of the websites on a domain name if archived. Excellent tool for researching the history of domain names.

• BlogFlux PageRank - Check the pagerank (PR) of your websites at Google.

• iWebTools - Search engine position checker. Check your search engine positions for keywords at Google.

• Market Leap - Three free search engine marketing tools. Link Popularity Check, Search Engine Saturation and Keyword Verification. Link Popularity shows how many sites link to your domain name.

• Overture - The Overture Suggestion Tool tells you how many people have searched for a specific term. 

• PC Names - Lots of good tools for finding domain names and expiring domain names, domain checker, domain suggestions and traffic search.

Domain Name Organizations

•  DNOA - The Domain Name Owners Association a non-profit organization of domain name buyers, sellers and owners. DNOA members may put a Certified Seller seal on their websites to identify themselves as a trustworthy seller. 

• ICA - The Internet Commerce Association is made up of individuals and companies that own, buy, sell and resell domain names and host internet traffic. ICA’s purpose is to promote the value and benefits of Internet traffic.

• Icann - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is the governing body over domain names.

• Public Interest Registry - PIR is the registry for .ORG domain names.

• ukdna.org.uk - The UK Domain Name Association represents the interests of UK domain name registrants and registrars.

 Whois Services

•  Better Whois - A good site to do whois searches. A whois search checks the availability of a name. If registered it identifies the owner of a domain name and the status of the name. Better Whois limits the number of searches per day.

• Domain Tools - Whois and expired domain name search.  Lots of helpful domain tools such as whois history search and domain monitoring.

• iWhois.com - Performs quick whois searches.

• whois.net - Easy site to lookup registration data for domains.

• Whois Query - Identifies the individual CORE registrars as well as the ICANN registrars.
